What I, As A Heterosexual, See

I have many friends who happen to be gay or lesbian. That doesn’t make them any different. I am not gay/lesbian/bi but I can tell you it makes me angry when I see what gay/lesbian/bi people have to put up with. I want to see them have the same rights we have. Here is my problem with the discrimination against them. First off, you can’t help who you fall in love with. If it happens to be a person of the same sex then so be it. Love is love and you can’t change that. I think it is great when anyone can find love, so why should it be any different for them? All they want is what we have. The right to marry the person we love. I don’t agree with the things people say about gay/lesbian/bi people because it is wrong. I understand some people were raised in a very closed-minded environment, but this is how the world really is. You can’t just shut your eyes and pretend not to see anything. To me, denying gay/lesbian/bi people of there rights is just as bad as denying people of a different race equality in our country. Gay/Lesbian/Bi people are still people. Don’t all people in our country have the same rights? They deserve to be treated better. How come if an actor or actress comes out and says “I’m gay.” everyone says “I respect them for coming out and saying that. It took guts.” but when a everyday person comes out it is a sin. I don’t understand some people. I support gay marriage 100% because they deserve to be happy. Please consider this article, and really think about how you would feel if people treated you like you were wrong and sick. How would you feel if you weren’t treated equal? Think about it.
